Cut Above Card Kits

Howdy!

        I always find that a handmade card makes a world of difference in showing how sincere you are. So, when I find the time, I like to make large quantities of cards in one sitting so that I always have a homemade card handy. 

        Close to My Heart has some really great card kits that help make this possible for my busy schedule! This go around I used the Cut Above Thank You Card Kit, but I added my own little flair…take a look below and tell me what you think!

        The greatest thing about the Cut Above kits is there is already a basic guideline created for you, but you have the option to make it your own! 

        With this specific kit I added a small piece of white card stock (2"x1 3/4") and distressed the edges with my Close to My Heart edge distresser  and then inked the torn sides with my Lagoon or Pear ink pad. 

        The adhesive I used for this project was Close to My Heart Bonding Memories Glue, I recommend this adhesive due to its durability and its user friendly application. This is also a "two-way" glue, which allows me to either use it as a permanent adhesive <OR> I can put a thin layer of it on a sheet of card stock or a Cricut mat, let it air dry and now its sticky like a post-it note!!

        Last but not least the stamp set that I used to create this unique card was Casual Expressions D1525, it is an all around great stamp set for any sentiments card.

My "Workshop"

     Howdy! 

          As some of you may have already figured out, I am a college student. With this the assumption is that I do not have a real space for my crafting other than a small corner of a desk or a small container in my room. 

          Well I am proud to show y'all how I turned my boring desk into my Creation Station!!! I have plenty of space, my little Ottlite, a cricut expressions, comfy desk chair, and even a curtain backdrop! This is definitely a step up from my small cabinet in my dorm room, LOL! Hope y'all enjoy my little craft makeover.

When can you find time to craft?

So being a college student the best way I have found to be able to craft and do my schoolwork is that I often combine the two! 

I made a mini album for my leadership project (which in place of the word documents could easily be a 4x6 photo!) Using simple tools such as distressing with Inkpads, using shimmer trim and our awesome washi tape, I took a simple project and made it a fun crafting day! 
The mini album was created using CTMH Artbooking Collection and the house and tree were made from CTMH Art Philosophy Collection. 

This is an easy, very doable AND inexpensive school project that anyone could recreate to fit their needs! I hope y'all all like my quick (6x6) mini album and I hope my professor does too!!! You can also visit my website at www.happilyevercrafters.com!
